shiver me timbers

A couple weekends ago was our local Harbor Days festival; we had a great time walking around by the water and seeing the tugboats, watching some pirate fights, and enjoying a great lunch. Also, Francois and Simeon got tickets to ride on a pirate ship and be part of a mock battle for three whole hours in the afternoon! They were aboard the Hawaiian Cheiftan and were the lucky winners of the battle against the Lady Washington, who made an appearance in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Apparently Simeon made friends on the ship with a young lad named Liam; Liam's aunt noticed and commented on yet another shark tattoo he was sporting that day. In childlike honest fashion, he asked if she had any tattoos? Francois tells me she turned bright red and didn't answer right away but did fess up that yes, she did have one from a long time ago and would he like to see? Amazing the things you can learn about someone when your preschooler's there to ask the right questions. ;-)
